Clear. Consistent. Timely. Transparent.

Thank you for visiting the Patient Care Quality Review Boards online.

High-quality health care is important to all of us. Our government is committed to quality care for all British Columbians, and we are always striving for ways to make our world-class health system even better.

In 2008, government introduced the Patient Care Quality Review Board Act to establish a clear, consistent, timely and transparent approach to managing patient care quality complaints in British Columbia. This process provides patients in BC with the opportunity to better resolve concerns and further improve the quality of the health care system.

If you have a concern about the quality of care that you or a loved one is receiving, it is best to raise this concern at the time and place care is being provided. However, if this does not address your concern, or you would like to make a formal care quality complaint, you are encouraged to contact the Patient Care Quality Office in your health region.

If you are not satisfied with how your complaint has been handled by the Patient Care Quality Office, then you may request that an independent Patient Care Quality Review Board review the matter.

To learn more about these boards, or to request a review, please review the information on this website.

Together, we can continue to strengthen BC’s health care system through a shared commitment to transparency, accountability and quality care.
